In 1960, on a quiet stretch of Afghan Street in Jammu, Sh. V.P. Chauhan opened the gates of Oriental Academy with a single conviction — that every child, regardless of background, deserves an education that prepares them not just for examinations, but for life.
What began as a small school has, over six decades, become one of Jammu's most enduring institutions — shaping generations of doctors, engineers, civil servants, soldiers, scholars, artists and parents.
His belief in character before credentials remains the school's compass to this day.

This year, ten of our Class 12 students were named on the J&K Board State Merit List.
Our Class 10 students also made us proud, with a 100% pass rate and 52 students crossing the 95% mark.
But this notice is not only about marks.
